Finance and Credit
The AAS in Finance provides strong training in the financial services industry. HCCS is fortunate to have a long standing partnership (30 years) with the American Institute of Banking, the educational branch of the American Bankers Association (ABA). This link is provided by the Center for Financial Training (CFT), 1701 River Run, Suite 1103, Fort Worth, TX 76107, 817-335-8500. The finance department works closely with CFT to provide the latest material from the ABA and to assist with student placement within the credit and finance industry.
The program prepares students for employment and advancement within the financial services industry. Major emphasis is placed on commercial banking. However, the degree may be used in a variety of other financial service areas. The banking specialty courses within the degree are fully accredited by the American Institute of Banking (AIB). Upon consultation with the department chair, the student may tailor the curriculum to allow earning most of the diplomas offered by the AIB while simultaneously completing a degree at HCCS. The capstone for the AAS and Certificate is BNKG 2374, Financial Business Administration.
