INMT 1248 Manufacturing Processes I

Course Description

Corequisite: INMT 1249

Exploration of a variety of methods used in manufacturing. Theory and application of processes including, but not limited to, metal forming, welding, machining, heat treating, plating, assembly procedures, and process control considerations. The student will exhibit a knowledge of various metal forming processes, show an understanding of welding processes, and demonstrate an understanding of machining operations and heat treating methods. The student will recommend appropriate assembly and fabrication guidelines, formulate recommendations for appropriate process control systems, and apply plating process to metals.
