The Multimedia Language Lab: Computing and French

Document Actions

Students taking French at Central are expected to have basic computer literacy and a working e-mail address. The Multimedia Language Lab at HCC-Central offers students of French access to any language-learning computer work. The lab is located in FAC – 305, and its hours vary from semester to semester. Visit it regularly: do not wait until the last minute to get your computer work done before a test.

  • Call 713.718.6678 for the current semester's open lab hours.

  • Always sign in at the front of the lab when visiting on your own.

  • Never bring food or drink to the lab.

  • Silence your cell phones: people are trying to learn!

  • Tell lab assistant if you wish to print.

  • Limit printing to 5 pages per day. Save a tree: try to print 2 pages per sheet.

  • Remember to exit all programs & leave your terminal as you found it.

  • Allow yourself a little bit of time each day to do computer work: constant contact is the key to learning a language.
