Biography

    Susan Roy Hines, a native Houstonian is a product of the Houston Public School system.  After graduating from The High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, she matriculated to The Cleveland Institute of Music where she received a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance and a Masters of Music degree in Piano Performance and Piano Pedagogy from the University of Houston.

    Ms. Hines began her teaching career as an adjunct professor.  During her tenure here, she has served as head of the music department and is presently a full-time professor teaching various disciplines.  Ms. Hines enjoys teaching piano, piano class, music fundamentals and sight-singing/ear training classes.

    Outside of her duties at HCC, Ms. Hines is active in numerous music organizations – Music Teachers National Association, Texas Music Teachers Association, Independent Music Teachers Association and Texas Music Educators Association.  Along with her students, she is involved with community service projects and stays very busy as an adjudicator and accompanist.
